Overview
Kidde is a mass-market fire safety brand under Carrier's Fire & Security division, producing a broad range of residential and commercial smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, combination smoke/CO units, fire extinguishers, and commercial fire suppression systems. Kidde residential products are among the most widely recognized in North American hardware and big-box retail channels, meeting UL and ULC standards for both Canadian and US markets. The Kidde Engineered Systems (formerly Kidde Fire Systems) line covers commercial and industrial suppression including FM-200, CO2, dry chemical, and water mist agents used in data centres, server rooms, and industrial facilities. In 2024, Kidde Global Solutions was acquired by an affiliate of Lone Star Funds, separating some product lines from Carrier. Kidde products are broadly available in Canada through retail and commercial fire safety distributors.
