Teledyne FLIR (formerly FLIR Systems), now a subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies since 2021, is the global leader in thermal imaging technology with over 45 years of expertise developing infrared cameras and sensors for defense, law enforcement, industrial inspection, and commercial security applications. In the physical security market, FLIR offers a range of thermal and visible-light security cameras, including the FLIR Quasar and Elara series, designed for perimeter protection, critical infrastructure monitoring, and long-range detection in total darkness and through smoke, dust, and light fog. FLIR cameras integrate with major VMS platforms and are commonly deployed at airports, power plants, data centers, correctional facilities, and border security installations where detection reliability is paramount. The combination of thermal imaging with onboard video analytics provides extremely low false-alarm rates for outdoor perimeter applications compared to visible-light cameras.
